Rosen to rep Angels as People All-Star

ANAHEIM -- Major League Baseball, People magazine and the Angels announced on Monday that Ruthe Rosen was chosen to represent the Angels as part of the "All-Stars Among Us" campaign.

The campaign, which began in 2009, recognizes individuals who are serving their communities in extraordinary ways.

Rosen, who was one of three finalists to represent the Angels, was chosen by fans across the nation for her community service through The Let it Be Foundation, which gives aid to children and their families battling life-threatening illnesses.

The foundation currently helps Chino Valley children and their families to maintain a sense of normalcy in their lives during the struggle by providing services, such as housekeeping, grocery and meal services, family recreation and sibling needs.

The Chino Hills, Calif., native, will be honored along with the other 29 "All-Stars Among Us" -- one representing each MLB team -- during the pre-game ceremony of the All-Star Game at Angel Stadium on July 13, beginning on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.

Fans across the nation cast 1.7 million votes -- more than double the amount of votes from the previous year -- at PeopleAllStars.com to select the 30 "All-Stars Among Us" winners out of the pool of 90 finalists who are serving as leaders within their communities.
